Philadelphia, Pa. – (9/18/2012) – In the spirit of the College's mission, the Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team recently participated in the Autism Speaks Walk that was hosted at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, September 15, by the Philadelphia Phillies. With goals of learning and leading in mind, the Griffins listened to the stories of those affect by the disease, before joining thousands of individuals who came out to support the cause.

 
“It went well!” exclaimed team captain, sophomore guard Tenisha Townsend-Mobley (Pleasantville, NJ), who continued, “Our team showed our positive character and personality. We tried to make it as much about the children as we could; taking pictures, dancing, and having an all-around good time.” The Griffins joined a tremendous turnout for the event, which aimed to raise local awareness about the United States' fastest growing disability. Head Coach Laura Pruitt put the day in perspective, “While we were a small part of the thousands of people who showed up to support an important cause, we wanted to represent the College, our Athletic Department, and families in a positive light by playing a role in raising awareness and money for such a tremendous foundation.”
