The 2014-2015 Chestnut Hill College Athletic Director's Award recipient, Dominic Raia III '15 earned all-east region selections from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), and the Conference Commissioners Association (CAA) at the conclusion of his NCAA DII Daktronics All-American senior season (2015). That year, he led the Scarlet and Gold to their second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Championship appearance (2013, 2015) and garnered his second straight MVP award (2014, 2015) while earning All-CACC First Team recognition and the CACC Pitcher of the Year award with league-highs and program single-season records in wins (9), strikeouts (99), and earned run average (1.79 ERA).
Raia was an All-CACC Second Team selection in 2014 and 2013, earning his 2014 MVP award with a 6-4 record, a 3.17 ERA, and the league's second highest strikeout total (68). In 2013, he established himself as the Griffins ace with, a program record seven wins, a 3.47 ERA, and the program's first no-hitter (W, 11-0 @ Caldwell College on April 20), which earned him the D2BaseballNews.com DII Pitcher of the Week award on April 22. Raia is Chestnut Hill College all-time leader in wins (25), strikeouts (252), starts (42), innings pitched (274.0), complete games (7), shutouts (3), and pickoffs (8). Following graduation, he signed with the Watertown Bucks of the Empire League, making him the second member of the Chestnut Hill College baseball program to play on a professional contract.
