Jack and Rosemary Gulati '61 are a   testament to the College's commitment to Uncommon Excellence. Jack, a distinguished member of the Board of Directors from 2007-2013, and Rosemary, a valued  alumna, have provided instrumental leadership and significant contributions that have redefined the College for the next   generation of Griffins.

Since elevating to a NCAA Division II institution in 2007, few improvements have impacted athletics at Chestnut Hill College more than the construction of the Jack and Rosemary Murphy  Gulati Complex, which houses the Michael and Margaret Carney McCaffery Lounge and the College's Fitness and Recreation Center. Due to the great generosity of two Chestnut Hill College families, the College was able to transform two large and underutilized spaces into state-of the art facilities that have quickly become two of the most populated destinations on campus.

An ADA-compliant renovation of the old Fournier Gymnasium into a state-of-the-art fitness center, construction of The Jack and Rosemary Murphy Gulati Complex started in December 2010 and features a two-tiered fitness center. This $3 million transformed space includes a 1,500 foot mezzanine level and a cupola-highlighted entrance pavilion to the Fitness Center, which connects to the piazza between the Logue Library and Fontbonne Hall, creating a gathering center where students can congregate.  The piazza serves as a picturesque entranceway to a welcoming lounge and cardio deck which includes a variety of treadmills, with iPod compatibility and touch screens, and a rower with an upper body ergometer and hydro resistance. On the lower level, the exercise space offers Cybex free weights, a cable crossover jungle, and multiple variable resistance machines to provide an excellent source for isolated muscle training and multi-joint exercises. Two power racks with custom logo wooden   platforms, various elliptical machines, arc training equipment,  recumbent and upright bikes, offer the College's students and staff a magnificent platform to pursue athletic success and a healthy lifestyle.
