Sauer followed in the footsteps of many Griffins before her, significantly contributing to three Chestnut Hill College sport programs (Basketball, Field Hockey, and Lacrosse). She was the College’s first 1,000-point scorer, as she reached 1,083 points in a collegiate basketball career that included a Philadelphia Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (PAIAW) scoring title in her freshman season (1978-1979, 24.5 pints/game). As a freshman, Sauer won Conference III Championships in field hockey and lacrosse, which she helped return to a Conference III Championship in her junior season (1980-1981). Sauer served, with Carol Steinour ’81, as a two-year co-captain for the women’s basketball team (1980-1982). She also served as a captain for the women’s field hockey team during the same seasons (1980-1982) and for the women’s lacrosse team as a senior (1981-1982).
