Broville Mentioned on CACC Women’s Tennis Weekly Honor Roll
New Haven, Conn. - (9/10/2019) – Senior captain Barbara Broville (Toulouse, France) teamed with classmate Mia Covic (Novi Sad, Serbia) for a hard-fought 7-6 victory in the top doubles flight and earned Chestnut Hill College’s only team point in a 6-1 loss to Le Moyne College (September 8) to garner a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Tennis Weekly Honor Roll.
Chestnut Hill College (0-1) opened their 2019-2020 season schedule on Sunday, September 8, with an afternoon home opener versus Le Moyne College. The Griffins enjoyed a hard-fought 7-6 victory in the top doubles flight thanks to the combined effort of Broville and Covic. Unfortunately, with a default loss at number three doubles and a 6-0 loss at number two doubles, the Griffins already surrendered the doubles point, 1-0. Le Moyne College (1-0) only improved their standing in singles play, where a default win in the sixth flight and consecutive wins at number four (6-0, 6-0) and number three (6-0, 6-0) singles clinched the match for the Dolphins. They also added a 6-0, 6-2, win at number five singles and a 6-0, 6-0, win at number one singles before Broville concluded the match with her 6-0, 7-5, triumph in the second solo flight.
