Chukuntarod and DePalma Repeat

Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA) returned to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly report. Chukuntarod repeated as the CACC Rookie of the Week, while DePalma earned her fifth honorable mention for the CACC Player of the Week award.
Chukuntarod added to a stellar freshman campaign with 72 assists this week. She offered 43 assists along with three kills, an ace, and nine digs in the loss to Philadelphia University on Tuesday, October 18. Then she totaled 29 assists, five kills, an ace, five digs, and a block in the win over Post University on Friday, October 21. Chukuntarod averaged 10.29 assists/set, 2.00 digs/set and 1.14 kills/set for the week. This season, she currently ranks fifth in the CACC for assists (726) and fourth in assists/set (7.72). She has also recorded 34 aces, 200 digs, and 18 blocks.
DePalma and the Griffins continue to reach new ground in 2011. She totaled 35 kills, three aces, and 29 digs to help the Griffins to their 1-1 week. She opened with 21 kills, two assists, an ace, 17 digs, and a block in the loss to the Lady Rams, before recording 14 kills, two aces, and 12 digs in a win over the Eagles. For the season, she leads the CACC in kills (340) and is second in kills/set (3.37), and points/set (3.81). DePalma has also totaled 18 assists, 38 aces, 336 digs, and 14 blocks. She has set program records in kills.
The women’s volleyball team continues CACC play with a 7:00 p.m. match against the University of the Sciences on Tuesday, October 25.
