All-Tournament Honors Earn Gannon ECC Women’s Bowling Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
West Babylon, N.Y. - (10/24/2019) – For the second straight week freshman Madeline Gannon (Glenolden, Pa.) appeared on the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women’s Bowling Report as she earned Honor Roll recognition with an all-tournament performance at the Mount Shootout. Gannon averaged a score of 212 during the traditional round to place second on the individual leaderboard. She was previously named the ECC Women’s Bowling Rookie of the Week on October 17, after averaging 18.51 pins-per-frame at the Bud Whitman Memorial.
Despite Gannon’s all-tournament performance during a 4-1 traditional round at the Mount Shootout, Chestnut Hill College had trouble finding a win on the second day of competition. During a 4-1 first day, the Griffins defeated #20 ranked Duquesne University, 952-865, and #16 St. Francis University (PA), 892-888. Junior Christina Del Vecchio (Warrington, Pa.) led the team versus the Dukes with a 221 while Gannon rolled a 209. Versus the Red Flash, Del Vecchio rolled a 204, Gannon a 189, and junior Kristina Scimone (Gibbsboro, N.J.) a 186. Unfortunately, the Scarlet and Gold finished the weekend 4-5 after day-two losses to Mount St. Mary’s University (L, 743-900), Howard University (L, 775-897), Coppin State University (L, 3-4), and Felician University (L, 2.5-4.5).
