Contoudis Takes CACC Player of the Week, Mangan Earns Honor Roll Selection
New Haven, Conn. - (3/5/2020) – Chestnut Hill College baseball had two honorees for their performances in the team's season-opening series win over Bentley University, with Griffin bats firing to take two of the three games the team played down in Florida.
Junior outfielder John Contoudis (Jenkintown, Pa.) posted a stellar .667 batting average and seven RBIs across the three games. Starting all three games, he notched eight hits in 12 at-bats, having his most-prolific outings (four hits, three RBIs in game one and three hits, two RBIs in game three) during the team's wins. He was also named the Philadelphia Baseball Review Player of the Week and the NCBWA Hitter of the Week for his efforts.
Senior pitcher Jerry Mangan (Wayne, Pa.) was clutch in relief during Chestnut Hill College's first two wins of the year. His efforts placed him on the CACC Honor Roll for the week. He registered the win after making an appearance in the sixth inning of a 7-6 win and getting the team out of a bases-loaded jam. He also earned a save for three innings of work during the team's 10-4 win.
