CACC Lists DiRugeris For Third Time

Mark DiRugeris Jr. (Woodbury, NJ) earned himself his third Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week honorable mention with a historical week of work. The Griffins leading scorer recorded his 1,000
th career point while averaging 19.0 points-per-game (PPG) and 5.5 rebounds-per-game in two conference wins.
After keeping Chestnut Hill College (16-7, 9-2) one step ahead of the University of the Sciences (USciences) for thirty nine minutes, on Tuesday, February 1, DiRugeris put the finishing touches on a 77-67 CACC victory and a milestone evening with game-clinching free throws. He recorded his 1,000
th career point with 40 seconds to play and he totaled 29 points in the affair. DiRugeris was 8-of-11 (73.0%) from the field, 4-of-5 (80.0%) from three-point territory, and 9-of-10 (90.0%) from the free throw line. He led the Griffins in all facets of play adding seven rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal to his milestone performance. DiRugeris followed his historic evening with nine points, four rebounds, and four assists in the Griffins 81-76 home win over Nyack College on Saturday, February 4. He averaged 19.0 PPG and 5.5 RPG this week, but for the season he has led the Griffins in scoring (16.2 PPG) while also providing 3.4 RPG, 40 assists, five blocks, and 27 steals.
