Men’s Tennis Scores Key Win over Devils

Yoann Pham (Boulogne-Billancourt, France) was recognized on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Report as the league’s Player of the Week. Pham was perfect in singles play, 3-0, and was responsible for the Griffins lone point in a match with #2 the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) on Friday, March 30.
Pham helped Chestnut Hill College (8-7, 2-1) improve their overall standing with doubles and singles wins against Adelphi University, 5-4 on Tuesday, March 29, and La Salle University, 4-3, on Thursday, March 29, before earning an individual victory with against the UDC. Against the Panthers, he won number two singles 6-3, 6-0 after teaming with senior
Julius Twyman (Coatesville, PA) for a 7-1 win at number one doubles. Against the Explorers, won his singles match 6-7, 7-5, 6-2, after working with Twyman for an 8-3 win in the top team flight. Additionally, Pham rallied to win number two singles 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) to account for the Griffins only point against the Firebirds.
For the season, he is 12-3 as an individual, 10-3 at number two doubles. In doubles play, he has accumulated a 6-9 record.
