New Haven, CT – (4/12/2010) – After collecting three straight honorable mentions, senior midfielder Carley Glass (Swedesboro, NJ) garnered the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week Award for women’s lacrosse. Glass had a magnificent week totaling 22 goals and eight assists.
Helping Chestnut Hill College (4-6, 3-4) to a 2-1 week, Glass averaged ten points per contest which included seven goals and four assists in the Griffins 17-7 win over Post University. Glass opened the week with a versatile performance against Dominican College totaling seven goals, two assists, seven ground balls, seven draws, and six caused turnovers. The Griffins defeated the Lady Chargers 18-13 for their second conference win. In the following contest against Wilmington University, Glass nearly led Griffins to a comeback win over the Wildcats. She totaled 8 goals, two assists, six ground balls, eight draws, and caused three turnovers in the contest. And with a hand in each of the Griffins' last four scores she brought them to within one goal of tying the affair, 14-13. She closed the week with 7 goals, 4 assists, and six ground balls at Post University.
Glass leads the Griffins in goals (41), assists (17), points (58), ground balls (41), draws (29), and caused turnovers (20). Among her CACC opponents, she ranks first in goals per game (4.1), assists per game (1.7), points per game (5.8), and ground balls per game (4.1). She is second in the conference for caused turnovers per game (2.1) and third in draw controls per game (3.0). Glass sits two assists shy for 100 for her career; she is Chestnut Hill College's all-time leader in assists (98).
The women’s lacrosse team continues CACC play with a home contest against Holy Family University at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13.
