Hightower and Dickson Draw Recognition on CACC Weekly Report

Luke Dickson (Pitman, N.J.) were recognized on latest edition of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Report. Headlining seven Griffins in double figures, Hightower earned the CACC Rookie of the Week award on the effort of his first collegiate double-double, ten points and 12 rebounds, while Dickson was an honorable mention for the CACC Player of the Week with his team-high 17 points.
In a contest of unprecedented scoring, Chestnut Hill College (8-8, 4-3) owned an intimidating 58-38 halftime advantage thanks to a 63.2% (24-for-38) first half shooting effort in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over Goldey-Beacom College (5-12, 2-7). The Lightning came storming back with a 61-point second half, but fortunately team efforts usually produce good results, and this contest was no exception, as the Griffins recorded team and game scoring highs in the six-point victory over the Lightning.
Hightower recorded his first collegiate double-double in the Griffins win with 12 points and ten rebounds. He grabbed five rebounds on each end of the court while scoring on 6-of-8 (75.0%) field goal attempts to help the Griffins establish a 58-38 halftime advantage and keep the Lightning at bay in the second half. He also recorded an assist, a block, and three steals in the win. For the season, he is averaging 2.7 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, to go along with 15 assists, 16 steals, and 22 blocks.
Dickson led seven Griffins in double figures as he hit 7-of-14 (50.0%) from the floor to tie his season-high scoring performance with 17 points. He hit three from long range (3-of-4, 75.0%) while also recording three rebounds and two assists in his 26 minutes on the floor. This season he is averaging 7.9 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game, 19 assists, and 14 steals.
The men's basketball team continues their CACC schedule on Wednesday, January 23, when they host Holy Family University in an 8:00 p.m. contest.
