Morlock Makes ECC Men’s Lacrosse Honor Roll

Shane Morlock (Whitby, Ontario) recorded two goals in another tough ECC challenge on Saturday, April 6, when Chestnut Hill College visited #11 Molloy College for an afternoon contest. Despite an 11-7 loss to the Lions, Morlock earned a mention on the East Coast Conference (ECC) Week Seven Honor Roll for his effort.
Chestnut Hill College (4-5, 1-2) was the aggressor early, with a Morlock goal giving the Griffins a 3-1 lead with 3:50 remaining in the first quarter, unfortunately, the Lions scored once more before the end of the frame, 3-2. The Lions carried their momentum into the second quarter, where a 5-2 run gave the Lions a 7-5 halftime advantage despite a second Morlock goal with 2:18 remaining in the quarter, 7-4, and anther Griffins goal with 1:26 remaining in the frame. Unfortunately, after intermission the Lions doubled up the Griffins 4-2 to endure for an 11-7 win.
Morlock is currently tied for third on the team in goals (8), assists (6), and points (14) while also recording six ground balls. Three of Morlock’s eight goals have come on a man-up opportunity.
The men's lacrosse team returns home to host (RV) Mercy College in a 1:00 p.m. ECC contest on Saturday, April 13.
