Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) led Chestnut Hill College’s defensive effort at last weekend’s Millersville University Tournament and earned herself a share of this week’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week award. New this season, the CACC Defensive Players of the Week award will recognize the league’s top defensive performances throughout the season.

For the Chestnut Hill College women’s volleyball team, the 2013 season opened at the Millersville University Tournament with a match against the hosting Marauders. The Marauders pulled away in the back half of the first set, 25-15, narrowly escaping a Griffin rally in the second set, 26-24, and sealing the victory 3-0 (25-15, 26-24, 25-8) in the third set, 25-8. Trabosh offered ten digs and an ace in the loss. The Griffins fared better, but still came away empty handed after a second day of competition at the Millersville University. Trabosh recorded 55 digs between the Griffins two four-set losses with 21 digs, two assists, and an ace against Franklin Pierce University, 3-1 ( 25-20, 16-25, 25-22, 25-16), and 34 digs, two assists, and two aces against Holy Family University, 3-1 (28-26, 27-29, 25-18, 25-23).
