Bogans Ends Collegiate Career On CACC Weekly Honor Roll

New Haven, Conn. - (3/3/2014) – Jakeem Bogans (Philadelphia, Pa.) ended his collegiate career on a high note, as the Griffins senior guard represented Chestnut Hill College on this week’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Report with an Honor Roll mention. Bogans averaged 16.5 points-per-game (PPG), offering 15 points and five rebounds in a loss to Holy Family University and 18 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal a CACC Opening Round loss at #1N Bloomfield College.

Bogans shot 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the field, including 2-of-4 (50.0%) from long range, and 2-of-2 (100.0%) from charity stripe to lead all scorers in the CACC Opening Round contest at Bloomfield College. He also recorded two boards, an assist, and a steal, but his swan-song effort would not be enough to advance Chestnut Hill College (10-17, 8-11), in an 84-62 defeat. Earlier in the week, Bogans led the Griffins in a 73-61 season-finale loss at Holy Family University. The Griffins came away on the short end of a sloppy CACC affair on Tuesday night, as the Tigers turned a narrow halftime advantage, 26-25, into a 12-point win with a superior second-half effort. Bogans led four Griffins in double figures with 15 points, hitting 3-of-5 (.600) from long range and grabbing five rebounds in the last game of the regular season.

Bogans enjoyed his best season as a Griffin in his senior campaign, averaging 10.0 PPG and 2.2 rebounds-per-game (RPG) while totaling 35 assists and 18 steals. He finishes his collegiate career eighth all-time in scoring (697 points) and three pointers made (75-of-217, .346), seventh all-time in free throws made (152-of-205, .741), and tenth all-time in assists (104).

The men’s basketball team concludes the 2013-2014 season at 10-17 overall and 8-11 in the CACC play.
