O’Donnell and Balcer Swing Their Way onto CACC Weekly Report with Scores from Bear Trap Dunes Invitational
New Haven, Conn. – (3/17/2014) – Joining several Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) members at Dowling College’s Bear Trap Dunes Invitational, Chestnut Hill College turned in a 6
th place finish (334-328, 662 strokes, 6
th of 8) thanks to the striking of sophomore
Matthew Balcer (Bensalem, Pa.) and freshman
Kevin O'Donnell (Cape May Courthouse, N.J.). O’Donnell was recognized as the league’s Rookie of the Week with his two-day total of 178 (90-88, +34), while Balcer was a CACC Honor Roll mention with his team-best 159 (80-79, +15).
Wilmington University led the field with a two-day score of 608 (+32) and offered seven of the top 12. They were trailed in the standings by Bentley University (308-307, 615 strokes, +39), Nyack College (314-305, 619, +43), American International College (318-312, 630, +54), Dowling College (322-314, 636, +60), Chestnut Hill College (334-328, 662, +86), Dominican College (339-331, 670, +94), and Felician College (363-350, 713, +137).

Bryan Saxon (Califon, N.J.) finished 29
th with a two-day total of 163 (87-76, +19), sophomore
Cody Bloom (San Diego, Calif.) finished tied for 35
th with a 168 (83-85, +24) strokes, O’Donnell shot a 178 (90-88, +32).
The golf team tees off next on Saturday, March 23, when they travel to the Seaview Resort in Absecon, New Jersey, for the Richard Stockton College Invitational.
