Humes Hauls in CACC Honor Roll Recognition
New Haven, Conn. – (3/24/2014) – A perfect weekend of competitions at Post University and Dowling College earned junior
Michael Humes (Mount Laurel, N.J.) a mention on this week’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s tennis Report. Humes contributed an individual win to the Griffins 8-1 CACC win at Post University before having a hand in two of the Griffins points in a 9-0 victory at Dowling College.
In Friday’s, March 21, victory over Post University, Humes scored a 6-3, 6-0, win over the Eagle sophomore Peter Fanous (Cairo, Egypt). After a sweep of doubles play, Chestnut Hill College (9-3, 1-0) overcame the Eagles in all except number three singles for the conference win. The Griffins continued to dominate their competition on Saturday, March 22, with a 9-0 win at Dowling College. Humes first paired with senior
Anthony Moore (Williamstown, N.J.) for an 8-0 win at number two doubles before scoring the first of four 6-0, 6-0, individual wins with his shutout of the Golden Lions senior Justin Skidmore (Lindenhurst, N.Y.).
The men's tennis team returns to campus on Friday, March 28, for two their next two matches, the first of which is a 1:00 p.m. dual match with the University of the District of Columbia.
