Dawson’s CACC Wins Draw Mention On League’s Weekly Honor Roll New Haven, Conn. - (9/22/2014) – Senior
Charlotte Dawson (Odessa, Texas) earned a 4-2 record while competing in the top singles and doubles flights during Chestnut Hill College’s 2-1 week against Caldwell University, the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), and Post University. For her efforts, she was recognized on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Tennis Weekly Honor Roll.
A 3-0 run in doubles play gave Chestnut Hill College (3-1, 3-0) a commanding advantage in this Wednesday, September 18, afternoon's CACC match at Caldwell University. Individual play followed suit as a 6-0 tilt left the Griffins with their second league victory of the season, 9-0. Dawson combined with junior
Iman Williams-Mulesa (Pickering, Ontario) to score the afternoon’s first point at number one doubles, 8-1, before winning her individual match at number one singles, 6-0, 6-0.
On Friday, September 19, the Griffins broke from their league schedule to take the courts against NYIT. Unfortunately, they did not find the retribution they were looking for as the Bears won each match in a 9-0 final.
Chestnut Hill College got back to their winning ways on Saturday, September 20, afternoon when they visited Post University for a league match. Dawson contributed to the sweep by teaming with Williams-Mulesa for an 8-3 win at number one doubles and scoring a 6-1, 6-2, individual victory at number one singles.
The women's tennis team continues CACC play on Wednesday, September 24, with a 4:00 p.m. home match against Holy Family University.
