Dawson Draws Third Straight CACC Honor Roll Recognition
New Haven, Conn. – (10/6/2014) – Senior Charlotte Dawson (Odessa, Texas) was the lone Griffin to go undefeated in Chestnut Hill College’s 7-2 loss at Goldey-Beacom College, as the she stayed on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Tennis Weekly Report for the third straight week.
The Chestnut Hill College (4-2, 4-1) women’s tennis team resumed their CACC schedule on Wednesday, October 1, with an afternoon visit to Goldey-Beacom College (6-0, 3-0). Unfortunately, the Lightning earned a critical win for the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament by defeating the Griffins, 7-2. They grabbed the advantage in doubles play, taking the bottom two team flights by respective 8-6 and 8-3 finals. The Griffins stayed in the match with an 8-2 number one doubles win from Dawson and fellow senior Morgan Oechsle (Coopersburg, Pa.). The separation came in singles play, where the Lightning claimed individual wins at all but number one singles. There, Dawson recorded the Griffins only singles point with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph.
The women’s tennis team continues their CACC schedule on Tuesday, October 7, when they visit Philadelphia University for a 3:00 p.m. match.
