?Turner Ends Season With Another CACC Honor Roll Nod

New Haven, Conn. - (3/2/2015) – Despite a 71-60 setback to Holy Family University in the women’s basketball season finale, senior forward Tiffany Turner (Marlton, N.J.) went out on a high note with another Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Honor Roll mention, her fifth of the season. Turner totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds for her 11th double-double in 18 games on the Hill; she finished the season on the All-CACC Third Team after averaging 14.4 points per game (PPG) and 10.5 rebounds per game (RPG) to propel Chestnut Hill College (10-16, 8-10) to its best finish since elevating to a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II program after the 2006-2007 season.

Chestnut Hill College never gained a foothold in the season finale against Holy Family University. The visiting Tigers jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back, separating themselves for a 71-60 CACC victory that kept them perfect in 16 meetings since the Griffins joined Division II.

Holy Family University scored the game's first 10 points and led 12-1 at the 15:19 mark before Chestnut Hill College could react. The home side came to life to some extent, cutting the Tiger advantage to 20-14 on two free throws by Turner (9:32), but Holy Family University unleashed a succeeding 22-5 burst over the next 7:39. The Tigers locked down on defense and were automatic from the foul line, making all 12 of their free throws in the first half. The last two provided a 42-19 margin just inside the two-minute mark (1:53) of the frame.

After going into the locker room down 42-22, the Griffins rallied with the first six points of the second half on consecutive layups by Turner, sophomore forward Lauren Milligan (Gosport, England), and senior guard Tenisha Townsend-Mobley (Pleasantville, N.J.), 42-28 (18:17). From there, the margin fluctuated between 13 and 18 points until Felder kicked off a 7-0 run with a three-point play and jump shot. The spurt ended when Turner knifed inside for a basket to cut the deficit to single digits, 65-56 (1:11). Unfortunately, Chestnut Hill College could get no closer than nine as the Tigers left Sorgenti Arena with an 11-point triumph, 71-60.

Turner was characteristically efficient in her final appearance in scarlet and gold, scoring 17 points on 7-of-9 (77.8%) shooting and 3-of-5 (60%) from the line. She also contributed three assists, three blocks, and two steals.

Chestnut Hill College concluded its best season in Division II with program records for wins (10) and conference wins (8). The Griffins won four of their final six games.
