Bocaletto and Say Return to CACC Weekly Report

New Haven, Conn. - (4/13/2015) – Making their second straight dual appearance on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Report, senior Steven Say (Cannes, France) and freshman Lucas Bocaletto (Itatiba, Brazil) each warranted Honor Roll spots after helping to lead the Chestnut Hill College men’s tennis team stretch its winning streak to seven with a 3-0 week. Say won all six of his matches, while Bocaletto was a perfect 4-0.

When the door closed on the Griffins’ scheduled match with Concordia College (NY), a window opened to complete Wednesday’s suspended match with University of the Sciences (USciences) on Thursday afternoon. After Chestnut Hill College swept doubles a day ago – with Bocaletto and fellow rookie Pedro Festugato Regalin (Caxias do Sul, Brazil) winning 8-1 at first doubles while Say and senior partner Michael Humes (Mount Laurel, N.J.) were 8-2 victors at number two – the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rivals flip-flopped home-court advantages as the Devils traveled to the Hill to complete singles play. Chestnut Hill College, still officially the visitor, made quick work of USciences with six pro-set victories to finish off a 9-0 win. Bocaletto toughed out a 9-7 win from the top singles flight, while Say shut out his opponent, 8-0, at the next slot.

The Griffins then traveled to Bloomsburg University for the BU Duals over the weekend, which began with a 9-0 decision against the host Huskies. Bocaletto and Regalin left with an 8-4 victory at number one doubles, while Say and Humes teamed for an 8-2 count on the second court. This time penciled in to the first singles position, Say dispatched Bloomsburg’s top challenger, 8-2.

Next came an early wake-up call against Shepherd University on Saturday morning. Bocaletto and Regalin got the Griffins started on the path to a 5-0 victory, taking an 8-2 verdict at first doubles. Say and Humes continued the success with an 8-6 win at second doubles to polish off the team’s seventh straight triumph.

The #49 Griffins locked horns with #6 Concordia College (NY) in a battle of CACC unbeatens this afternoon.
