Career Week Earns Alexander CACC Honorable Mention
New Haven, CT – (12/13/2010) – Sophomore forward Lindsay Alexander (Huntingdon Valley, PA) averaged 21.3 points-per-game (PPG), 8.3 rebounds-per-game (RPG), and 3.0 steals-per-game (SPG) in a career week for the Chestnut Hill College women’s basketball team. For her efforts she was recognized with her second honorable mention for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week award.
Alexander tied her career-high with 24 points against Philadelphia University on December 7; two days later, on December 9, she scored 26 points to lead Chestnut Hill College (3-6, 1-2) to a 77-63 win over Georgian Court University. Against the Lions, Alexander was 9-of-15 (60.0%) from the field and 7-of-9 (77.8%) at the line while also grabbing six rebounds, dishing four assists, and making two steals. She closed the week with 12 points, seven rebounds, and three steals at Goldey-Beacom College on December 11. Alexander was 24-of-44 (.545) from the floor, 5-of-10 (50.0%) from three-point range, and 11-of-20 (55.0%) at the line this week.
This season, Alexander has already recorded two double-doubles and eclipsed the 20-point plateau three times; she leads the Griffins in scoring (14.4 PPG, 46-of-105, .438) and steals (2.0 SPG), and is tied for the team lead in rebounds (7.0 RPG). Alexander was an honorable mention for the CACC Player of the Week award on November 22 after averaging 13.3 PPG and 7.7 RPG against Washington Adventist University, the University of the District of Columbia, and Bloomsburg University.
The women’s basketball team breaks from their CACC schedule to host Lock Haven University in a 3:00 p.m. contest on Sunday, December 19.
