Wildgoose Awarded Seventh CACC Rookie Title, Kuhnen and Milligan Follow on Weekly Honor Roll

New Haven, Conn. - (2/15/2016) – Winners of five of their last six Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games, Chestnut Hill College won two this past week, defeating both Wilmington University, 85-75, and Dominican College, 76-55, behind the combined play of junior guard Caity Kuhnen (Binghamton, N.Y.), junior forward Lauren Milligan (South Hampton, England), and freshman forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.). All three received recognition on the league’s weekly report with Wildgoose capturing her seventh CACC Rookie of the Week award while Kuhnen and Milligan both appeared on the Honor Roll.

Continuing to run their CACC opponents ragged, the high-paced Griffins earned Tuesday night's league win over Wilmington University at the free throw line as the 10-point final spread, 85-75, matched the difference at the charity stripe. Chestnut Hill College hit 27-of-36 (.750) at the free throw line, spreading the effort along the roster and placing four players in double figures. Kuhnen led the way with 22 points while Milligan offered her fourth double-double of the season, and third in her last five games, with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Kuhnen finished 5-of-10 (.500) from long range and hit all seven (7-of-7, 1.000) of her free throw attempts to finish with her fifth game of 20 point or more this season. She also recorded six rebounds and four blocks. Milligan was 4-of-13 (.308) from the field, but like Kuhnen, she provided a quality night at the free throw line, hitting 8-of-9 (.889) from the charity stripe while also contributing two assists. Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) registered 12 points, five rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal.

Even a brief fourth-quarter power outage could not slow down the Scarlet and Gold on Saturday afternoon as Chestnut Hill College won for the fifth time in their last six games, finishing off the last 3:35 of the 76-55 CACC victory over Dominican College with the use of cell phone stop clocks and a flip-score. Five Griffins finished in double figures with 16 points from Wildgoose leading the way. She was 7-of-11 (.636) from the field and 2-of-2 (1.000) from the free throw line in her 20th double-digit performance of the year. She also recorded five rebounds and two assists in the process. Kuhnen followed with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and a steal while Milligan carried more than her share with four points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and a block.

The action continues on Thursday, February 17, when the women's basketball team travels north on US Route 1 to Holy Family University for a 6:00 p.m. league contest versus the Tigers.
