Koehler Earns CACC Honor Roll Mention For Play at Wildcat Regional Invitational
New Haven, Conn. - (9/10/2016) – Recording 35 kills on a .231 (35K-11E-104TA) hitting percentage and making 21 blocks over four matches at this past weekend’s Wildcat Regional Invitational, senior middle hitter Emily Koehler (Bath, Pa.) was recognized for her play on this week’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Volleyball Honor Roll. Koehler totaled 49 points over the course of the invitational with her best performance supplying 14.5 points in a 3-1 (24-26, 26-24, 25-17, 25-19) loss to Franklin Pierce University.
Chestnut Hill College (2-6) lost all four matches by 3-1 finals, winning a set versus American International College (AIC), Pace University, Franklin Pierce University, and Le Moyne College. Koehler, who tied senior outside hitter Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.) for the team’s lead point total for the weekend, offered double-digit points on three of four matches. After the loss to AIC, Koehler led the Griffins in battle against Pace University (5-1). She recorded 13 kills on a .312 (13K-3E-32TA) hitting percentage while providing three digs and a solo block. In the next match, versus Franklin Pierce University on Saturday, September 10, Koehler recorded seven more kills, this time while hustling to a dig and a single-match record 11 blocks (four solo blocks and seven block assists) for a team-high 14.5 points.
She also offered seven kills, a dig, and four block assists against the Yellow Jackets, and eight kills, a dig, two solo blocks, and three block assists against the Dolphins.
Chestnut Hill College return home to host Felician University for a 7:00 p.m. home opener on Tuesday, September 13.
