Byxbee Represents Chestnut Hill College On CACC Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll
 
New Haven, Conn. - (10/10/2017) – Sophomore outside hitter Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.) totaled 34.5 points in four matches to earn a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll. Byxbee recorded 12 kills in the first two contests of the week, finishing with double-doubles in both thanks to respective 12-dig, 19-dig efforts versus Jefferson University (W, 3-1 on October 3) and Wilmington University (L, 1-3 on October 6).
 
With their honored professors and the spirit of GriffinNation behind them, Chestnut Hill College (4-16, 3-6) overpowered the defending CACC Champion, Jefferson University (11-6, 6-1) in Tuesday night's Faculty Appreciation Night affair by a 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, 20-25, 25-14) final. The Scarlet and Gold was on its mark from the onset, 25-16 and 25-18, and recovered from a 25-20 third-set setback with a decisive 25-14 victory in the fourth frame. Outside hitters, freshman Corrine Kalala (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and Byxbee (12 kills, three aces, 12 digs) both reached double digits kills; the former added two blocks for a team-high 19.5 points, while the latter was one of two Griffins with three aces and one of five Griffins with at least 10 digs.
 
Starting a busy weekend, Chestnut Hill College resumed their CACC schedule at Wilmington University (8-12, 4-4) this evening. As the league match progressed, the Wildcats used consecutive wins of 25-18 and 25-17 to claim a 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-18, 25-17) league victory over the Griffins. Byxbee was the Scarlet and Gold point leader with 12.5 (12 kills, 1 block assist) while senior libero Peyton Reno (Wilmington, Del.) hustled to 36 digs in addition to providing an assist.
 
Continuing a busy weekend, Chestnut Hill College played a pair of matches at Nyack College this afternoon. The first was a noon CACC match against the hosting Warriors and the second was a succeeding three sets opposite Pace University; Nyack College won the league match 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-19) and the Setters the latter contest, 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-18). Kalala recorded a team-high six kills in both affairs, while junior setter Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) provided 37 assists and Reno supplied 43 digs. Byxbee totaled seven kills and 20 digs between the two matches, in the first she added 16 digs to a pair of kills.
 
On Wednesday, October 11, the Chestnut Hill College women’s volleyball team continues their CACC schedule with a 7:00 p.m. Side-Out Foundation Dig Pink match versus Georgian Court University.
