Isaac Earns CACC Weekly Honor Roll Recognition for 24 Points versus Warriors
Â
New Haven, Conn. - (11/27/2017) – In a determined effort, senior guard Demetrius Isaac (Philadelphia, Pa.) earned half of his 24 points at East Stroudsburg University at the free throw line (12-of-15, .750). The effort headlined the Griffins’ performance against the Warriors and earned him a spot on this week’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Honor Roll.
Â
East Stroudsburg University (3-0) attacked from the outside-in as a pair of long range baskets helped the home team to an early 10-5 (14:59) lead over Chestnut Hill College (1-4). Isaac tried his best to keep the Griffins in the mix, scoring 17 of his 24 points in the first half. He hit 11-of-12 (.917) from the free throw line while grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists in a valiant effort, yet the Scarlet and Gold fell behind by 24 points, 66-42, at halftime and as many as 35 points, 93-58, midway (10:02) through the second half of a 111-77 final.
Â
Isaac recorded seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal in addition to his two dozen points. He received support from junior guard Liban Awl (Manassas, Va.), who hit three (3-of-7, .429) from long range in a 17-point effort. Awl added four rebounds and four assists to his fourth straight double digit scoring effort. Junior guard Cartier Talford (Reading, Pa.) was the third Griffin in double figures with 11 points in excess of three rebounds, three assists, and a block.
