Sebold Secures Fourth Straight CACC Rookie Of the Week Award, Tumasz Appears on Honor Roll

New Haven, Conn. - (1/16/2018) – Recording a career-high 25 points in a 84-74 league victory at Post University on Wednesday, January 10, and continuing her strong play off the Chestnut Hill College bench in a 88-61 league win over Nyack College on Saturday, January 13, freshman guard Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the fourth straight week. She was joined on the weekly release by senior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.), who earned her fourth mention on the CACC Honor Roll this season.

Another brilliant Sebold performance – a career-high 25 points - and a 16-minute double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) from junior forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) headlined Wednesday evening’s play at Post University (2-11, 1-6). There, Chestnut Hill College (11-6, 7-1) emerged from a 16-16 first-quarter tie to lead the Eagles by as many as 17 points, 83-66 (2:18 4QTR), in their fourth straight CACC victory, 84-74. It was Sebold’s third consecutive contest of career scoring; she did so while hitting two threes (2-of-6, .333) in a 10-of-17 (.588) shooting effort that earned her a hand full of trips to the free throw line (3-of-5, .600). She also handed out a team-high five assists in the victory. Tumasz was the third Griffin in double digits, providing 17 points in excess of four rebounds and an assist.

Chestnut Hill College improved their current winning streak to five games on Saturday, January 13, with a solid, 88-61 CACC victory over Nyack College (2-15, 2-6). Tumasz captained the Griffins with a 24-point effort that came with six (6-of-9, .667) three point baskets, three rebounds, two assists, and five steals. Sophomore forward Shannon Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa.), Wildgoose, and Sebold all joined Tumasz in double digits; Sebold came off the Griffin bench for 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

The Chestnut Hill College women's basketball team will resume their conference play January 16, 2018, hosting Dominican College at 5:00 p.m.
