Wildgoose Ends Regular Season on CACC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
New Haven, Conn. - (2/26/2018) – Junior forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) earned recognition on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll after helping Chestnut Hill College to league wins over Holy Family University and CACC South-leading, the University of the Sciences (USciences). She averaged 14.5 points-per-game (PPG) and 9.0 rebounds-per-game (RPG), while recording three assists and a steal.
On Wednesday, February 21, Wildgoose helped Chestnut Hill College (19-9, 15-4) to a 45-39 rebounding advantage and a 68-63 win over Holy Family University with six points, a team-high 12 rebounds, and an assist. Sophomore guard Cailey Gibson (Marlton, N.J.) led the Griffins through the first half grind, but play loosened up in the second half as senior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Wales, Pa.) hit all five (5-of-8, .625) of her three pointers in the third quarter to force the Griffins ahead the eventual win.
On Saturday, February 24, Chestnut Hill College put an exclamation point on the most successful season in program history with six players recording double figures in an 80-77 CACC win over Usciences. Wildgoose captained the Griffins with 23 points, but she had plenty of help from the perimeter thanks to three, three-pointers apiece from Tumasz and Gibson, and an impressive 23-of-29 (.793) team effort at the free throw line. In addition to her points, Wildgoose recorded six rebounds, two assists and one steal.
The Chestnut Hill College women’s basketball team finished the 2017-2018 regular season at 19-9 overall and 15-4 in the CACC, earning the South Division’s #3 seed in the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament. Postseason play begins with a 7:00 p.m. Opening Round contest at Caldwell University on Tuesday, February 27.
