Klusaritz Earns CACC Player of the Week Award with Seven-Point Performance
New Haven, Conn. - (3/5/2018) – Senior attack Dylan Klusaritz (Slatington, Pa.) scored six times and provided an assist, three ground balls, and a caused turnover in Chestnut Hill College’s recent 14-8 loss at #17 Mercy College. The effort earned Klusaritz the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week title and moved him into first on the league’s scoring ranks.
Mercy College (4-1) was first on the scoreboard, netting the contest’s first two tallies at 12:56 (1-0) and 12:16 (2-0). Chestnut Hull College (0-2) responded a couple minutes later (10:11), when Klusaritz found senior midfielder Joshua Pope (Schnecksville, Pa.), 1-1. But Mercy College recorded three more scores before the end of the frame, 5-1, and added a sixth tally before a pair of unassisted Klusaritz goals reduced the margin to 6-3 with 8:13 remaining in the first half. Unfortunately, that is as close as the Griffins would get with the Mavericks adding a man-up goal just before the six minute mark (7-3, 6:09 2QTR) and keeping their distance in an eventual six-goal difference, 14-8.
The Chestnut Hill College men’s Lacrosse team returns home to host Ohio Valley University in a 1:00 p.m. contest at Victory Field #1 on Wednesday, March 7.
