Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA) were recognized for their individual efforts in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly release. Chukuntarod was named the CACC Rookie of the Week and DePalma earned an honorable mention for the Player of the Week award.
Chukuntarod totaled 71 assists, 14 digs, and two blocks at the East Stroudsburg University Tournament, with her best performance coming in a 3-1 (25-23, 11-25, 11-25, 15-25) loss to Caldwell College. Chukuntarod opened the tournament with eight assists and three aces in a 3-0 (25-5, 25-19, 25-9) win over Lincoln University, before significantly increasing her production against the Cougars. She supplied 35 assists in the match, helping DePalma to 16 kills and leading the Chestnut Hill College (3-1) offensive effort. Despite the loss, a determined Chukuntarod saw to it that the Griffins left the tournament on a high not. They did, defeating East Stroudsburg University 3-0 (26-24, 26-24, 25-19) in the weekend finale. Chukuntarod contributed 28 assists, an ace, and five digs to the victory.
DePalma was the main beneficiary of Chukuntarod’s dynamic play, totaling 32 kills in addition to three aces, 24 digs, and two blocks. DePalma offered six kills, two aces, and nine digs to the win over Lincoln University, before registering a career-high 16 kills against the Cougars. She hit .214 (16K-7E-42TA) against Caldwell College, while also recording an ace and seven digs. DePalma concluded the tournament with 10 kills, eight digs, and a block against the, hosting, Warriors.
