Galantich’s Record Assists Earn Her Mention on CACC Weekly Honor Roll
New Haven, Conn. – (4/16/2018) – Senior attack Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) totaled 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists) - which included a single-game record 10 assists in a 22-1 league win at Felician University – in excess of seven ground balls and 15 draw controls to earn a mention on this week’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Lacrosse Honor Roll.
Felician University (0-9, 0-5) could not put out the fire that was Chestnut Hill College (7-5, 4-2) in Tuesday evening’s CACC contest as the Griffins overpowered from the Golden Falcons in a 22-1 final. Senior midfielder Hunter Leckonby (Charleston, S.C.) (5 goals) headlined the Scarlet and Gold scoring outburst, but Galantich stole the show with 11 points in all; she also recorded two ground balls and nine draws in the affair.
Despite falling on the short side of a 14-13 final, Chestnut Hill College had plenty to celebrate during Friday’s CACC contest versus Georgian Court University as both junior midfielder Julia Reinert (Bridgeport, Pa.) and Leckonby recorded their 100th collegiate goal, and members of the 14 Chestnut Hill College Philadelphia Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (PAIAW) Championship teams gathered for a memorable halftime recognition and Hall of Fame Induction. Leckonby and Galantich finished with four goals apiece; the former added five ground balls and six draws to her six-point (4, goals, 2 assists) performance.
The Chestnut Hill College women’s lacrosse team continues their CACC schedule on Monday, April 16, with a 7:00 p.m. against Wilmington University.
