Lopez Lands CACC Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
Newark, Del. - (10/6/2018) – Senior Raquel Lopez (East Meadow, N.Y.) finished 18th (25:42.6) in the six-kilometer (6K) run at the University of Delaware’s Blue and Gold Invitational to earned mention on this week’s Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Cross Country Honor Roll.
Lopez led Chestnut Hill College to a six place (6th of 9, 158 points) at White Clay Creek State Park. In support, senior Erica Waleski (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) followed Lopez with a 29th place (26:29.1) finish, while senior Makenzie Hooven (Philadelphia, Pa.) was the third Griffin to place in the top-50, finishing 43rd (27:42.6). Sophomore Irene Canizares-Llull (Islas Baleares, Spain) was not far off as she placed 51st with a time of 28:54.4. Senior Kelly Bradley (Philadelphia, Pa.) was the last Griffin to score with her 59th place (30.09.7) run. Freshman Brittany Kahhan (Philadelphia, Pa.) rounded out the Scarlet and Gold competitors with her time of 33:57.9 (78th place).
Chestnut Hill College cross country competes next on Saturday, October 13, at the Gettysburg College Invitational.
