Callahan and Sutton Conclude Season With CACC Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
 
New Haven, Conn. – (11/5/2018) – Helping Chestnut Hill College to a pair of league wins versus Felician University (W, 3-2; 25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-10 on October 31) and Dominican College (W, 3-0; 25-16, 25-20, 25-16 on November 3), junior middle hitter Cassie Callahan (St. Louis, Mo.) and senior setter Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.) were acknowledged on the final Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll of the season. Callahan recorded a team-high 30.0 points with 27 kills, a pair of aces, and two block assists; 17 of her kills came with a career-high 27 digs in the Griffins’ five-set win over the Golden Falcons. Meanwhile, Sutton offered 58 assists en route to surpassing the 3,500-assist plateau on the Griffins’ first point of the fifth set versus Felician University.
 
Concluding their 2018 home schedule in grand fashion, Chestnut Hill College (11-18, 8-11) recovered from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Felician University by a 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-10) margin in Wednesday evening's CACC match. Along the way, Sutton made history with the 3,500th assist of her collegiate career. She finished the match with 42 assists in all, helping Callahan (17 kills), junior outside hitter Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.) (15), and freshman right side Lauren Lipinski (Gilbert, Ariz.) (10) to double digit kills. Callahan benefitted the most from Sutton's point play with a team-high 17 kills and a team-best .234 (17K-6E-47TA) hitting percentage. She totaled 19.0 points in all with an additional ace and two block assists, while also recording a team-high 27 digs. Sutton added two kills, 10 digs, and three block assists to her historic evening.
 
Chestnut Hill College concluded their 2018 season on Saturday, November 3, with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-30, 25-16) CACC victory at Dominican College. The Scarlet and Gold triumph included a 10-kill performance from Callahan and eight team aces. Sophomore setter Shaina Franklin (Yorktown, Va.) offered three of them and helped Sutton provide 24 of the Griffins’ 27 assists. Callahan hit .300-plus for the sixth time this season as she landed her 10 kills with a .364 (10K-2E-22TA) efficiency rate. She also recorded an assist, an ace, and a team-high nine digs. Sutton finished with 15 assists in addition than two kills, two digs, and a block assist.
 
Chestnut Hill College finished the 2018 season, their first under Head Coach Tim Moyer, at 11-18 overall and 8-11 in CACC play.
