Edelman Earns ECC Women’s Bowling Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
West Babylon, N.Y. – (11/9/2018) – Senior Rebeccah Edelman (Oakford, Pa.) ranked 20th in the traditional individual standings, leading Chestnut Hill College to a 10th place (10th of 19, 4,048-4,131; 8,179 pins) finish at the Virginia Union University Invitational last weekend. Her impressive performance earned her a spot on the East Coast Conference Women’s Bowling Weekly Honor Roll.
Chestnut Hill College (14-8) got off to a strong start at the Virginia Union University Invitational, winning all four of their matches on Friday, November 2. The Scarlet and Gold’s baker victories came against Coppin State University (W, 828-732), Norfolk State University (W, 834-697), Bowie State University (W, 839-783), and Fayetteville State University (W, 747-741). On the second day, the Griffins added traditional wins over host, Virginia Union University (W, 784-659), Felician University (W, 823-807), and Virginia State University (W, 855-799). The Griffins received significant contributions from the entire roster, including standout performances from junior Stephanie Brogna (Morganville, N.J.) – 172 game versus the Panthers, sophomore Lauren Klein (Horsham, Pa.) – 189 game versus the Bears, and Edelman, who scored a 214 in the Griffins’ win over the Golden Falcons. Chestnut Hill College finished the invitational with an 8-4 record after a 1-2 bracket showing that included a 4-0 win over Coppin State University.
