Riiff Captures CACC Player of the Week Award
New Haven, CT – (9/20/2011) – Helping Chestnut Hill College to a 2-0 week and their first league win of the season, senior forward
Lauren Riiff (Clementon, NJ) offered a 10-point week to be recognized as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week. Riiff contributed a goal and two assists in a 5-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College on Wednesday, September 14, before recording a hat trick the Griffins CACC win over Bloomfield College on Saturday, September 17.
Riiff was unstoppable this week. She first pushed Chestnut Hill College (3-3, 1-1) to a 2-0 halftime lead against St. Thomas Aquinas College, before locating two teammates early in the second half for the 5-0 victory over the Spartans. Then recorded her the fourth game of her collegiate career with at least three scores in the Griffins 5-2 win over Bloomfield College. This season, she is leading the Griffins in goals (6), assists (2), points (14), and shots (28). In the CACC, she ranks 5
th in assists, 2
nd in goals and points, and first in shots.
The women’s soccer team continues their CACC schedule with a 7:00 p.m. home contest against Georgian Court University on Wednesday, September 21.
