Sebold’s Career-High Continues Stay On CACC Weekly Honor Roll
New Haven, Conn. – (12/31/2018) – Sophomore guard Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) scored a career-high 26 points to keep Chestnut Hill College competitive in an 88-73 loss to Georgian Court University on Wednesday, December 19. She added three rebounds and an assist to her personal best to earn a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Honor Roll for a second straight report.
Sebold scored 11 of her points in the first quarter, carrying Chestnut Hill College (2-8, 0-2) to a 24-15 edge. Georgian Court University (2-8, 2-0) used a seven-point, mid-quarter run that brought them back to with one point, 30-29 (3:37), of the Griffins. From there, the Griffins and Lions battled it out, exchanging leads before a last-minute jumper gave Georgian Court University back their one point advantage, 40-39 (0:42), for halftime. Sebold finished the first half with 17 points. Unfortunately, her efforts were not enough to keep the Chestnut Hill College in the second half as the Lions extended their lead to double digits, 65-55, early in the fourth quarter (7:34) and as many as 15 points, 72-57, just three minutes later (4:11). Concluding free throws ensured the Lions’ victory.
Sebold was season’s best 7-of-8 (.875) from the free throw line for a second straight game. She hit three, three point baskets (3-of-12, .250), while also recording three rebounds and one assist.
