Miller Returns to CACC Weekly Honor Roll With Back-to-Back Double-Doubles
New Haven, Conn. – (2/11/2019) – Freshman center Leah Miller (Punxsutawney, Pa.) recorded double-doubles in last week’s league losses to Georgian Court University (L, 65-78 on February 5) and Caldwell University (L, 51-86 on February 9) to earn her second appearance on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll. Miller averaged 15.0 points per game (PPG) and 10.5 rebounds per game (RPG), while totaling three assists, two blocks, and a steal between the two contests.
After a competitive first half in Tuesday, February 5, night's CACC matchup against Georgian Court University, it was a nine-point run midway through the third quarter that stumped Chestnut Hill College in an eventual 78-65 final. Four Griffins hit double figures, including senior forward Jaeda Wildgoose (Somerset, N.J.) (12 points), freshman guard Lauren Crim (Warrington, Pa.) (12), sophomore guard Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) (11), and Miller (15). Miller's double-double included 15 points and 11 rebounds; she also recorded one assist.
Chestnut Hill College (6-15, 4-9) continued their CACC schedule on Saturday, February 9, afternoon at Caldwell University, where they struggled from the perimeter (2-of-17, .118) and turned the ball over 31 times in an 86-51 loss to the Cougars. A fourth double-double of the season – and third in her last four games – from Miller served as the silver lining for the Scarlet and Gold as the freshman center totaled 15 points and 10 rebounds in an efficient 21 minutes. Miller (7-of-12, .583) and Wildgoose (5-of-7, .714) combined to go 12-of-19 (.632) from the field, while the rest of the Griffins went 9-of-34 (.265). Miller added an assist, a block, and a steal to her double-double.
