DePalma Draws CACC Honorable Mention
New Haven, CT – (10/3/2011) – Sophomore outside hitter
Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA) received her second honorable mention for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week award after leading Chestnut Hill College in a 1-3 week of competition. DePalma had a career performance in a 3-2 loss at the University of the Sciences on Tuesday, September 27, killing 21 balls and making 29 digs.

Sidney Chukuntarod (San Francisco, CA), but Holy Family University (10-9, 7-0) shook off the initial set-back and won the match 3-1 with three consecutive set wins; 25-14, 27-25, 25-19. DePalma totaled 54 kills on a .157 hitting percentage this week, while also totaling five assists, four aces, and 67 digs. She averaged a team-high, 3.41 points-per-set. On the season, DePalma leads the Griffins in kills (220) and aces (29), while also recording 11 assists, 226 digs, and nine blocks. She ranks among the CACC’s top-ten in kills (2

The women’s volleyball team travels to Millersville University for their next match; a 7:00 p.m. opening serve is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4.
