Amaya Awarded Sixth CACC Women’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week Title, Reinert Joins on Honor Roll
New Haven, Conn. - (4/22/2019) – Senior goalkeeper Valeria Amaya (Oakland, Calif.) made a dozen (12) saves and recovered two ground balls in a 15-13 loss at Holy Family University on Wednesday, April 17, to earn her sixth Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Goalkeeper of the Week award. Fellow senior, midfielder Julia Reinert (Bridgeport, Pa.) joined Amaya on the report as an Honor Roll mention.
Chestnut Hill College (4-7, 2-3) owned a 10-7 advantage with 24:26 remaining in the second half, but an 8-3 Holy Family University (2-11, 1-5) run to the final horn left the Griffins on the short side of a 15-13 CACC final. Junior Dai Pearson (Pottstown, Pa.) and Reinert headlined the Scarlet and Gold effort; the former totaled five goals, four ground balls, a draw, and two caused turnovers, while the latter offered four goals, eight ground balls, five draws, and three caused turnovers.
