Ahmed Elgayar

Ahmed Elgayar was named the Chestnut Hill College Head Men's Soccer Coach in January 2021, becoming the seventh head coach in the program’s young history. 
 
Prior to joining the Griffins, Elgayar served as an assistant coach at Holy Family University under Head Coach Georg Montag. There, Coach Elgayar contributed to a 29-56-6 (23-33-4 CACC) stretch that included Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) postseason berths in both 2018 and 2019. While with the Tigers, Coach Elgayar also directed the nationally-ranked  Philadelphia Soccer Club’s 2004 Boys’ team (2014-2020), the FC Europa Soccer Club Boys Elite (2021-present)  and was the Father Judge High School boys’ varsity assistant coach  (2015-2016).

A two-time All-CACC Men’s Soccer performer (1st team- 2013; 2nd team-2012), Elgayar led the Tigers to a postseason berth  in each of his final two seasons, serving as team captain both years.  He recorded a team-high four goals (8 points) his senior year – the last served as Tigers’ only goal in a 3-1 CACC postseason loss to #2 Dominican College, earning him a spot on the 2013 CACC Men’s Soccer All-Tournament Team for the second consecutive year. Primarily a defenseman, Elgayar scored all four of his collegiate goals in his senior season, paring them with nine career assists for a total of 17 points.
 
After graduation, Elgayar played three professional seasons with the Philadelphia Fury (2014-2016) of the, now-defunct, American Soccer League (ASL), one professional season with the Al Masry Soccer Club of the Egyptian Premier League (2014) and the Philadelphia Spartans in Major Arena Soccer League. (MASL3).
 
Elgayar graduated from Holy Family University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He currently works as Assistant Recreation Leader for Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Department. Previously, Elgayar was a member of the Therapeutic Staff Support Team at Foundations Behavioral Health of Doylestown, Pennsylvania (2015-2019).  Elgayar is also a USSF C License Coach
