New Castle, DE – (10/13/2009) – Chestnut Hill College took the early advantage over Wilmington University in this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. A converted penalty kick by junior forward
Lauren Riiff (Clementon, NJ ) at 20:53 earned the Griffins a 1-0 lead, however, the Wildcats tied the affair by halftime and then added two second half scores to take the game 3-1.
Riiff drew a foul inside the Wilmington University (8-4, 7-2) box midway through the opening half to give Chestnut Hill College (9-5-1, 6-3-1) an opportunity to take control of the contest. She converted the penalty kick to place the Griffins in the lead 1-0. However, the Wildcats tied the contest before the break making use of a 10-3 shot advantage. They continued to direct play in the second half, outshooting the Griffins 17-2 in the closing period. As a result, the Wildcats scored twice more in the second half to win the affair 3-1.

The women's soccer team will return home to host Nyack College on Senior Day, Saturday, October 17. The CACC contest is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
