Lafayette Hill, PA – (10/21/2009) – Just 21 seconds into this evening's contest, senior midfielder Eileen Alexander (East Northport, N.Y.) gave Bloomsburg University a 1-0 lead over Chestnut Hill College. The Griffins held the Huskies scoreless over the next 65 minutes, but Bloomsburg University struck again at 66:02 and they eventually won the contest 2-0. Freshmen, midfielder Amanda Botbyl (Mays Landing, NJ ) and forward Jordan Wagner (New Cumberland, PA ) accounted for the Griffins five shots.

Alexander one-timed a ball from junior forward Kelsey Stoka (Langhorne, Pa.) to give Bloomsburg University (5-6-2) a 1-0 lead 21 seconds into the game. The Huskies fired ten more shots at freshman goalkeeper Jessica Veazey (Middletown, DE ) before halftime, but she stopped all four that made it on goal to hold the Griffins within one.

Chestnut Hill College (10-6-1) had a few early second half opportunities on the efforts of Botbyl and Wagner, but the Griffins came away fruitless. The Huskies took advantage of a 25-5 shot differential and extended their lead on a goal from senior midfielder Kelly Modes (Langhorne, Pa.) at 66:02. Sophomore goalkeeper Marissa McDowell (Royersford, Pa.) made three saves and earned the win. Veazey made eight saves in the loss for the Griffins.

The women's soccer team will conclude their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with a 12:00 p.m. contest at Post University on Saturday, October 24.
