Waterbury, CT – (10/25/2009) – Chestnut Hill College met Post University at Municipal Stadium for this season's final Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. The Eagles were first on the board, scoring at 16:28. They scored again two minutes later and used a 3-0 halftime advantage to eventually post a 5-0 win over the Griffins.
After the opening tally, Post University (6-7-2, 4-3-1) quickly extended their lead with two first-half scores from senior forward
Maurice Johnson (Kingston, Jamaica), 3-0. The Eagles limited Chestnut Hill College (2-11-2, 1-8-2) to one shot in the period and added one more score just before the break to hold a 4-0 led at halftime.
The Griffins were able to match the Eagles for most of the second half, however, the Eagles still managed to add to their lead with a fifth goal at 56:37. Griffin freshman goalkeeper
Michael Goldstein (Pennsauken, NJ ) made three saves in the loss. Freshman goalkeeper
Errol Reid (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) earned the win for Post University; he made one save.
The men's soccer team returns home to host the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown their final home contest. It is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start on Monday, October 26.
