Old Westbury, NY – (10/5/2009) – Chestnut Hill College's six-game winning streak came to an end this afternoon at the hands of the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). The contest was scoreless through the opening 34:56, but a through ball found its way behind the Griffin defenders and goalkeeper to be scored for a 1-0 Bear advantage. The Bears held that lead for the remaining clock to defeat the Griffins 1-0.

Megan Emanuelo (Deer Park, N.Y.) put home the eventual game-winner at 34:56. A through ball from junior midfielder
Taylor Jenson (East Meadow, N.Y.) beat both the Griffin defenders and goalkeeper and found Emanuelo's foot. She broke the scoreless stalemate to put the pressure on Chestnut Hill College (9-4). Junior midfielder

Kaitlyn Laufer (Merchantville, NJ ) were the only Griffins launch a strike, as sophomore goalkeeper
Kathryn Miller (Doylestown, Pa.) turned aside the only one that reached net to earn the win for NYIT. Junior goalkeeper
Caitlin Lafferty (Hockessin, DE ) made four saves in the loss for Chestnut Hill College. Freshman goalkeeper
Jessica Veazey (Middletown, DE ) played the final nine minutes for the Griffins and made one save.
The women's soccer team resumes their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with a 1:00 p.m. contest at Felician College on Saturday, October 10.
