Griffins Lose Grip at Nyack College

Nyack, NY – (10/16/2010) – Two, first-half goals gave Nyack College a true home field advantage over Chestnut Hill College. The Warriors carried their 2-0 lead to a final, defeating the Griffins in this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Goldstein (Pennsauken, NJ) made a career-high 14 saves in the contest.

 

Nyack College (5-9, 4-5) was on the scoreboard at 19:50, when senior midfielder Daniel Ocampo (Mexico City, Mexico) scored a penalty kick for the Warriors. The Chestnut Hill College (8-6, 5-4) defense had their hands full with the Warrior attack as three Warriors totaled at least four shots, including senior forward Babajide Fatoba (Lagos, Nigeria) who scored the Warriors second goal at 28:26. Senior goalkeeper Adrian Ibanez (Buenos Aires, Argentina) made five saves in the win.

 

Junior forward Billy Shulski (Galloway, NJ) and freshman midfielder Mushe Wamulume (Media, PA) each totaled two shots to lead the Griffin offense. Five others record one shot.

 

The men's soccer team takes a break from their CACC schedule for a trip to West Chester University on Tuesday, October 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
