Philadelphia, PA – (10/9/2010) – Felician College commanded the early play in this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest, but it was Chestnut Hill College who would score the game's only goal. A breakaway strike scored by junior forward Gavin Reid (Dundee, Scotland) won the contest 1-0 and improved the Griffins league mark to 5-2.

Felician College (1-9, 1-5) freshman midfielder Deen Maazouzi (Brussels, Belgium) recorded the contests first two shots, but the contest remained scoreless until Reid recorded his fifth goal of the season at 22:19. A Chestnut Hill College (8-4, 5-2) corner kick was deflected out of the Golden Falcons box. Reid collected the loose ball, beat the defense down the left side of the field, and fired to goal for the eventual game-winner, 1-0. The tone of the contest changed with the score as play progressed into an equal, but highly physical affair.

Reid led the Griffins with four shots and sophomore forward Carl Essenthier (Philadelphia, PA) added three more. Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Goldstein (Pennsauken, NJ) made five saves in his fourth shutout of the season (8-4). Junior goalkeeper John Weber (Morris Plains, NJ) made two saves in the losing effort (1-7) for Felician College.

The men's soccer team hosts Holy Family University in their next CACC contest on Thursday, October 14. Kickoff is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. at Victory Field #1.
