Philadelphia, PA – (9/18/2010) – Concordia College frustrated Chestnut Hill College through the early play of this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. Junior defender Lauren Brown (Dover, DE) ended the scoreless stalemate with a goal at 44:10, sophomore forward Alyssa Radetich (Sewell, NJ) followed with an insurance tally at 53:31 to lead the Griffins to a 2-0 win.
Chestnut Hill College (4-1-1, 3-0) owned the momentum early, but despite an 8-1 shot advantage the Griffins went scoreless until Brown capitalized on a scrabble in the Concordia College (1-6, 0-3) box, 1-0. After halftime, junior forward Lauren Riiff (Clementon, NJ) located Radetich on a cross to center; she sent it past the Clipper keeper to give the Griffins a 2-0 advantage in the 54th minute. The Clippers played more aggressively as time ran out; sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Veazey (Middletown, DE) rose to the challenge and made three saves in win (4-1-1). Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Lafferty (Hockessin, DE) played the final 7:33 in net and made one save.
The women's soccer team continues their CACC schedule with a trip to Goldey-Beacom College for a 4:00 p.m. contest on Wednesday, September 22.
