Box Score Lafayette Hill, PA – (10/12/2011) – Dowling College was on the scoreboard just 4:29 into the contest and after a rainy first half, the Golden Lions added a second goal at 63:29 to defeat Chestnut Hill College 2-0 in this evening's contest. The Griffins faced a 20-3 deficit in shots and a 9-3 gap in corner opportunities, as the Golden Lions controlled play throughout the affair.
As the rain intensified at Victory Field #1 so did the play of Dowling College (9-3-1), as the Golden Lions struck first at 4:29. Junior forward Alexis Parrota (Centereach Islip, NY) found fellow junior forward Kayla Mueger (Farmingdale, NY) on the left side of the box, Mueger fired the ball to the opposite side if the net to beat freshman goalkeeper
Samantha Pauls (South Plainfield, NJ) for the first goal of the contest, 1-0. The Golden Lions continued to carry play for the remainder of the period, but Chestnut Hill College (6-7) managed to keep it a one-goal deficit to intermission. Following the break, the Golden Lions went back on the offensive. Eventually, at 63:29, a foul restart from sophomore defender Erika Krumholz (Central Islip, NY) was headed to the back of the net by sophomore forward Dayna Galli (Selden, NY) for insurance, 2-0. The Golden Lion lead would hold until the final horn. Freshman goalkeeper Melissa Guglielmo (West Babylon, NY) made two saves in the win.
