10/22/2011 7:17:00 PM

Box Score Lafayette Hill, PA – (10/22/2011) – A quick flurry of action after the opening kickoff netted Dominican College an early goal. Chestnut Hill College began to control the ball later in the first half, but they were unable to score, leaving the Chargers to a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory. Three Griffins recorded at least three shots, leading the home team to a 15-13 shot advantage and a 9-4 edge on corner kicks.

Chestnut Hill College (5-9-1, 3-6-0) spent a large majority of the contest trying to break the Dominican College (8-4-3, 6-2-2) defenses. The Griffins managed to steal control of play around the 27-minute mark and in the final three minutes they had five straight corner kick opportunities, but they were unable to find goal. Senior goalkeeper Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) made three saves to collect the win for the Chargers while the lone, and eventual game-winning goal, was scored on a lobbed strike by junior midfielder Sony Narro (Stamford, CT).

Senior midfielder Chris Moore (Berlin, NJ) and freshmen forwards, Kevin Bushbeck (Philadelphia, PA) and Pat Steger (La Plata, MD), all record three shots for the Griffins. Junior goalkeeper Mike Goldstein (Pennsauken, NJ) made one save in the defeat (4-5-1).

The men's soccer team travels to Concordia College (NY) for their next CACC contest; a 2:30 p.m. kickoff is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, October 23.
