Lafayette Hill, PA – (9/10/2011) – The Chestnut Hill College Griffins came away the victors in a tough defensive match against The Nyack College Warriors. In a match were both teams put their heart and souls into the games, it was The Griffins who soared high in this exciting match up. The only goal of the day was scored by sophomore midfielder Mushe Wamulume(Media, PA) three minutes and 50 seconds into the first half. That was all the Griffins needed to put this one away to defeat the Warriors in their first CACC matchup.

 

The victory could not have been accomplished without the skills of the Griffins trusty goalie junior goalkeeper Mike Goldstein (Pennsauken, NJ) whom recorded 5 saves against the Warriors. The Nyack College Warriors shot the ball with ferocity but it was nothing Goldstein and the Griffins could not handle. The Griffins were also carried by the offensive efforts of Senior forward Gavin Reid(Dundee, Scotland) who recorded 8 shots.

 

The men's soccer team remains at home for their next match against St. Thomas Aquinas College on Tuesday night at 6:30 P.M.
